"Fritz Kahn and The Miracles" is a Portuguese musical project, honorable mention at the International Songwriting Competition 2006, that represents "a fine irony"; the German Jewish doctor Fritz Kahn stood for science (quite the opposite of 'The Miracles,' which stands for faith). Nevertheless, this project thrives to find meaning and hope – All songs are hymns for the underdog and the broken. Fritz's songs of faith are for those days when you find yourself helpless and in need of something beyond yourself.
The Portuguese musician Gonçalo Serras, the songwriter behind "Fritz Kahn and The Miracles," credits all of the American popular music he has ever heard as motivation for "My Baby Star." He cites the work of Irving Berlin and Jerome Kern, touting the calming and relaxing atmosphere he brings to his tracks as similar to that of "The Wizard of Oz," performed by Judy Garland, known as "Somewhere over the Rainbow."
