Haris Aronis is an exceptionally talented Greek singer and songwriter influenced by all genres of Greek traditional music, including Laiko, Rebetiko, and Dimotiko. With great respect and admiration for the evolution that composers such as Theodorakis and Hadjidakis brought to Greek music, he seeks to continue the legacy of traditional music while also exploring contemporary styles like Pop and Rock. Haris frequently collaborates with exceptional Greek musicians, including the greatest living bouzouki player of the world, Manolis Karantinis.
Haris Aronis was born and still lives in Aegaleo, the suburb of Athens that became famous by the unforgotten composer and greatest bouzouki player, Giorgos Zampetas (1925-1992). Although the main reason he became a songwriter was his deep admiration for bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd, the close friendship between Zampetas and his parents gave him the opportunity to study that great man and his music, and Greek traditional music in general. Haris' first guitar was a gift from Zampetas, a not so expensive "piece of wood," but when the teacher played it, it transformed to the most expensive guitar in the world, as fairies, nightingales and all kinds of wonders came pouring out!
