Based in New Mexico, Ken Montaño is a singer-songwriter who works in genres ranging from Country to Alternative, Latin, Pop, Blues, and Spiritual. He has received 13 nominations and 7 award wins including Male Vocalist of the Year, CD of the Year, Latino Pop Song of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Conjunto/Norteno Song of the Year, and Vocal Duo of the Year. Ken has also recorded vocals and/or keyboards for other artist’s albums, including Matthew Martinez, Bryan Olivas, Larry Lorenzo, Rick Hale, Guajira, and Sombra del Sol.
Ken Montaño wrote, composed, and recorded his first song titled Te Tocara in 2005 for a very close friend who died of Leukemia. It is a comforting song about faith in God during life struggles. His music is consistently motivating, inspirational, and entertaining. Ken's latest CD release, El Amor Se Acaba, was one of his greatest opportunities and musical accomplishments to date, as it introduced him to the New Mexico Hispanic Music supporters and opened the door to other great opportunities. Ken contributes his musical talents by playing guitar and singing in his local Church choir in New Mexico, St. Jude. He has won seven awards including Male Vocalist, CD, Latino Pop Song, Gospel Song, Conjunto/Norteno Song, Vocal duo (2 nominations), Rising Star, Salsa/Tropical Song of the Year, and Xover Song of the Year.
