It's 8 am and it's raining again - the alarm went off but I'm sleepin' in
Dreamin' 'bout a tropical bay - when I'm woken up by the garbage truck
I gotta get those cans to the curb - if I don't get up I'll be late for work
a heck of a way to say - good mornin'

I roll over to give her a kiss - but she's been up since quarter to six
gradin' papers for her high school class - we both laugh as I stumble past
we've been workin' way too hard - with two jobs and a house with a big backyard
when I come back in she....whispers in my ear
