Kristofer AxénHome: Sweden Kristofer Axén is a singer-songwriter of Alternative Rock. By creating Melodic Pop inside unconventional song structures, Axén's influences travel from The Beatles through Genesis and Tom Waits, investigating lyrical themes far beyond the heartbreak formula. His debut Strange Light Music (2014) was followed by 2016's The Creek And the Carving. Nordic Music Review called The Creek And the Carving "an interesting, thoughtful and well-written album which has a lovely attention to detail and continues to grow on me the more I give it a chance." |

Growing up on the Swedish West Coast, Kristofer Axén was exposed to a variety of musical styles from excursions through his father’s record collection. Honing guitar skills and developing his craft, he made his first demo at the age of fifteen and spent most of his twenties figuring out production, learning fundamental studio skills and new instruments. A good part of Axén's musical education was provided in a printer park listening to hundreds of albums surrounded by the pulsating sound of machines. In 2009 Axén moved to Stockholm, continuing to produce music while studying to become a social anthropologist. Songs from the album "Strange Light Music" have been featured on Radio Beacon Online and IndieCast Radio among others.
