Awash is a unique band from the Netherlands made up of five musically talented men who comprise a wide variety of beautifully completed melodic guitar Pop songs that tell a story. Sometimes lively, sometimes melancholic, but fascinating in both the small and the large this group's lyrics are fragile with full dedication and energy that is contagious. Awash has played on National Radio and TV building a reputation for playing Acoustic in small settings and big festivals.
Awash is a unique band of its kind with a powerful voice of the singer and sound of the bass player. During live performances at the 3FM (Dutch National Radio) shows 'Nachtegiel' and 'Ekdom in de Nacht' Awash was compared with bands as Editors, Raccoon, and REM.
In 2011 their EP 'Inner Drive' came out and received rave reviews like "... the drive of this second EP suggests that there are a lot of beautiful things about to happen. That can hardly go unnoticed, because of Awash, with this repertoire and this sound is just too good for that. "
In 2013 Awash met and exceeded expectations with their debut album 'Turn The Lights' which was released on Record Store Day. The album 'Turn The Lights' can be seen as a diary of thoughts on the way to a destination, a search for happiness.
