California artist, John Martin sounds like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Buckethead, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Adrian Legg. After being featured on an MP3 collaboration album, he enjoyed some notoriety which led him to another collaboration album in San Francisco. He can be seen performing in downtown San Fran., supporting that project after success in writing 19 songs for a sports film out of Laguna Beach, CA. Martin's influences and studies with Dave Weiner of The Steve Vai band led to an original style and sound of his own.
John Martin is also known as "ChaiVat' on several collaboration albums in the not-to-distant past. The name ChaiVat has been used on other collaboration albums and increasingly became used for other projects. Martin currently performs live as a solo-instrumental guitarist in his local area of California. John is currently paired up with a very diverse drummer, out of Kansas, named Jeremy Huff. The duo is writing another dynamic instrumental album due to be released sometime next year in 2018. Additionally they are writing and recording specifically for film and TV, while also enjoying their recent release of an instrumental EP which features some Rock songs, explosive Blues and an otherwise, trippy song called "Portals."
