Doug Wilde is a Canadian composer, music director, and keyboardist. He studied Film Scoring and Arranging at the Eastman School of Music and has a Master’s Degree in Composition from York University. Doug has created over a thousand scores for radio, TV commercials, and Film, including many campaigns for brands like Toyota, Chrysler, General Mills, UPS, Foster's Light, and Air Canada. With memorable melodies and a deep harmonic mastery, Doug's specialties include 20th-century Classical music, Chamber Jazz, and dark beautiful soundscapes.
Doug Wilde has extensive experience as a music director for live television, composing, arranging and leading bands for the Gemini and Genie awards, weekly variety shows, Canada Day from Parliament Hill, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Doug is also a Ph. D. candidate at York University studying post-tonal serial techniques and exploring ways to use these techniques in Classical and Jazz Composition. His particular interest is in harmonic systems created from six-note scales.
Doug has released two CDs of Chamber and scenic Jazz and a few CDs of his own melodic version of New Age ambient music.
