Pennsylvania Singer-Songwriter Beth McDonald has been writing music and lyrics for over 30 years. Her diverse catalog consists of Jazz, Gospel, Contemporary, Children's, and Country genres. Alan Dale of DC's New Legacy Jazz Band wrote that her songs are deeply personal, profoundly universal, and uniquely captivating, possessing a poignancy that can only arise from authenticity. Most of Beth's recordings are engineered by Chris Biondo, without whom the world may never have heard the voice of one of Beth's inspirations, the late Eva Cassidy.
In 2006, Beth McDonald released her first album Only Forever. In 2008, she took on the challenge of releasing two albums at once, with different target audiences for each (Home and At Last: Love Songs & Lullabies). As a result of the audience response to Beth's compositions, she released an album of all original material in 2010. Most of the music on that project was written within the six weeks that lead up to its recording. After a hiatus during which she released a single When the Water Falls, she collaborated on another artist's recording as both vocalist and producer. In 2018, Beth returned to the recording studio to release an original album of Gospel music.

"Take Me Away" expresses a longing to be with someone, wherever that might lead. It features a simple piano accompaniment with a trumpet solo and has a sort of subtle intensity.
