Native New Yorker Ashley Wool is a sensational singer, songwriter, and musical theatre actress. Her sound has been described as 'full-voiced theatrical Pop' in the vein of Lady Gaga, Tove Lo, and Marina. She has released two singles, the confessional Synth Pop ballad "Half of My Life" (Halsey x Taylor Swift), and the dark sexy "Automatoronic" (Britney Spears x Adam Lambert). She released a new Industrial Pop anthem "Starving Artist" in 2020, and her full-length album “Boycott Ashley Wool” is slated for a fall 2020 release.
Ashley Wool holds a B. A. in Musical Theatre from SUNY Geneseo, where she was one of five students in the major's inaugural class. A member of Actors' Equity Association, she has built a dynamic resume of critically-acclaimed performances on New York City and regional stages. She received a BroadwayWorld Award nomination for playing a gender-bent Simon Zealotes in Jesus Christ Superstar with Madison Lyric Stage, as well as an OnStage Critics Award nomination for playing Wednesday Addams in the Westchester regional premiere of The Addams Family. Some of her other favorite roles include Evita in Evita, Amy in Company, and Kira/Clio in Xanadu (twice).
Her original music has been spotlighted on Sessions with the Songwriters (Big Ear Radio), Moody Without Music (War Stories Radio Live), Indie Music Discovery, and Musiqtone. com and is being added to more station playlists all the time.
Pop Rock anthem for starving artists everywhere. Female vocal, electric bass and guitar, hard rock drums, style of Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Fall Out Boy. Incredibly badass. A touch political. Relevant as COVID encourages us to turn to the arts while we further disenfranchise art-makers. Female Vocals, Pop, Dance-Pop
