Based in Wales, William Malcolm Jones is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, and conductor in the Classical idiom. A graduate of Kneller Hall Royal Military School of Music and Sheffield University, he played with world-class bands and orchestras as well as solo artists such as Tom Jones, Sammy Davis Jr., and Vera Lynn. He writes full-scored music with knowledge of timbre and tonal color that comes from years of performing experience. From the intimate to the epic, William creates original music with emotion, drama, and atmospheric nuance.
William Malcolm Jones is a composer, conductor, orchestrator, trombonist, euphoniumist, and teacher who has been steeped in music since he used to sing in the chapel as a child. He went into full-time musical education when he was fifteen. He has played with world-famous Bands Brass Military and Big Bands. He studied at the Guards Division Junior Musicians Wing Pirbright then at the Royal Military School Of Music Kneller Hall. He later gained a music degree from Sheffield University whilst studying composition under Arthur Butterworth. He has won many prizes and been a featured Soloist. He is a published composer having written works for the Wind Band, Brass Band, and Orchestra. He always wanted to write music for film ever since a chance meeting with Ron Goodwin at a party in St Johns Wood London. He likes adventure-action comedy films and ‘Who Done Its. ’ He loves history and impressionist paintings, the shape and color of which inspire him to write music.
