Mfundo Mtshali, better known by his stage name, Mndo, is a talented artist and singer from Durban, South Africa. He has successfully been able to blend RnB, Soul, and Afro Pop into a sound that is his own. He released his first song “Work Hard” in 2018. He has collaborated many times with fellow songwriter and producer Jiggy Genius, who is also from Durban. Mndo’s first project came in 2019, a 6-song EP called “Taurus War” which was also produced by Jiggy Genius.
Mndo appeared on 2 songs on Jiggy Genius’ 6-song EP titled “Breakdown. ” They later announced that they were working on a collaborative EP and the 6-song EP “Trip To Space” was released in April of 2019. This time, the entire EP was produced by So Fye, a producer from the United States. This was the first time they worked together. This EP saw Mndo switch from using RnB beats to Rap Beats. Mndo’s unique voice and Jiggy Genius’ great flows and mixed with So Fye’s wavy beats made catchy songs, and the EP was well received by Mndo’s fans. He also gained some new fans with this release. Mndo capitalized on the hype from “Trip to Space” and released more songs shortly after. On these releases, Mndo returned to his normal RnB/Soul sound for the songs which were produced by Jiggy Genius. After his last release in June of 2019, Mndo took a break from music for about a year and focused on his clothing brand.
Mndo returned to music in June of 2020 with a track titled “Escape” produced by Jiggy Genius. This is arguably his best song to date.
