Christopher Smyrl (Vocal Tracks)

Home: New Mexico USA

New Mexico's Christopher Smyrl has been a guitarist and bassist for over 40 years. He has played many genres of music with many different bands throughout his career. He has recently decided to focus more on writing music and creating new compositions with a focus on his guitar-centered skills, but he is still open to other instruments and styles. As a progressive rock fan, this leaves a wide range of stylistic opportunities to explore and utilize the many genres he has played live in the past. Multi-use options are the goal.

Christopher Smyrl's ska band he joined as a bassist (Danny Winn and the Earthlings) had a few almost breaks during its run. The song, Rejected, made it onto the Michael Moore movie Sicko, the band also was a few days short of signing papers to have the song, Titus is Coming On, become the primary title theme for the TV show Titus, but the show was canceled before that came to fruition. He has extensive experience playing many shows and local touring with several bands around the Albuquerque, NM, area. He gained some local notoriety with a few of those bands, including local airplay at points and playing in venues of every size, from the arena to the dive bars. Throughout this, Christopher Smyrl's Progressive Art Rock side continued to be a foundation and made every genre enjoyable and a learnable experience. He also dabbles in multiple instruments besides the guitar, with saxophone, keys/piano, mandolin, violin, and drums being the main ones, but anything new and fun has a great chance of joining the lineup.

URBAN FOREST - (by Christopher Smyrl)  Year: 2024
Christopher Smyrl Droning and mysterious track with low synth and a busy drum groove. The middle section features an electric piano that morphs from chords to a mellow solo.
