Originally from Chicago, Ed Hartman composes in 14 genres, including Classical, Asian, Latin, Jazz, and Orchestral -- often working in dark, edgy, scary or tribal themes, using the exotic marimba and unusual percussion to add zing and originality. Ed has scored music for Film, TV, Radio, and even a Planetarium! Recent film credits: The Blind Side, Scooby Doo and The Mystery Begins (Warner Bros.); Surviving Christmas (Dreamworks), Mini's First Time (Bold Films), Forbidden Fruit (Jeff Madsen Productions), and The Paralyzing Agent (Z Flight Productions), plus TV shows and corporate.


Ed Hartman received his degree in percussion from Indiana University, and has written articles, sheet music and books about music. His TV Credits: Twas the Night, Katie Morgan, Big Love (HBO) and Passions (NBC), Doc-Block (MSNBC), Greek (ABC Family), Emeril Green (Green), "Nature" (PBS), "Channel 5 Takes Latin, Relic Hunter (Travel), Shalom In The Home (TLC), and Current TV.

Performance: Ed has recorded and performed with numerous bands, orchestras, dance and theatre co’s including: Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel, Tickle Tune Typhoon, and Ellipsis. In the Northwest, he has become a top freelance percussionist and recording artist. Ed has performed as a soloist at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall in NYC. His own bands The Olympic Marimba Band (World) and Northwest Passage (Jazz) perform music from around the world.
