Randy Parsons is a songwriter, vocalist, composer, and plays Acoustic/Electric guitar and bass. His song “Lucia Walk on The Beach” was used in ABC Family's 2007 hit series, Falcon Beach, and his "Sag Harbor Blues" appeared in 2010 in PBS's "Roadtrip Nation." Randy also performed in concert on bass for Grammy award-winning songwriter Hugh Prestwood. His vocals and instrumentals cover several genres including Alt Pop, Folk Jazz, RnB, and Country. Randy's vocals are mellow and smokey, perfect for laid-back Film and TV scenes about romance or crossed lovers.
Randy Parsons has written and recorded award-winning songs, played and sang in concerts, and his “Sweet Motion,” with sweet female vocals and bittersweet lyrics about starting a new life in LA, was a finalist in the 2003 CMT/NSAI songwriting contest. His “Morning Sky” won first place in the 2005 Boston Folk Festival songwriting contest.
Randy is New York-based and studied music at the Juilliard School, Berklee, New York University and the New School with Hugh Prestwood, Henry Gaffney, Jeff Franzel and Pat Pattison. He has performed at the former Folk City (NYC), the Bitter End (NYC), the Nameless Coffeehouse (Boston), the Stephen Talkhouse (NY) and accompanied Grammy award-winning songwriter Hugh Prestwood on Electric bass.
