LA pianist Ernie Scarbrough is one of those rare artists who is equally at home playing in an orchestra, big band, Country band, Rock band, or Jazz combo. He has directed more than 20 musical theatre productions, including a national tour, and is currently conducting and writing for three choirs, one of which performed recently at Carnegie Hall. Ernie’s music is evocative and functional, beautiful and edgy, sometimes challenging, and sometimes breathtakingly simple. He brings us original works in the Classical, Jazz, Pop, and Rock genres.
Ernie Scarbrough is a member of the National Music Honor Society, and he received his Composer's Certificate from Indiana University South Bend in 1996. He has been the resident Music Director at Playhouse On The Square in Memphis, TN, for 3 years, and he was Associate Music Director and keyboard player for the national tour of "Patsy! A Musical Tribute to Patsy Cline." Ernie has done commercial and soundtrack work for clients such as Bayer, Coachman, and Notre Dame Sports, and his full orchestral work, "Solitsism," was premiered by the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra.
This solo piano piece is an example of what Jerry Lee Lewis might have written if he had spent some time in a European conservatory studying the classics while listening to acid-jazz. This quirky piece would be great under action footage, fast-image presentations or a visual collage. Instrumental, Action, Theme Crime
