California composer James Barry's innovative approach combines hypnotic interlocking melodies with criss-crossing counterpoint to create moods ranging from ethereal and dreamy to dense and edgy. He has composed for and recorded/performed with a wide variety of artists and ensembles, including Joshua Radin, Ozma, Tears of the Moosechaser, Tinhorn Justice, and Falsetto Teeth, among others. James is a Cal Arts-trained cellist and a skilled bassist, guitarist, and accordionist, and he makes every attempt to combine those abilities with his programming and sequencing skills.
Fluttering Rhodes melodies intertwined with swerving electronics and echoed guitar lines take you on a flying taxi ride through a distant future metropolis.
