Based in South Africa, Mike Laatz is a saxophonist who specializes in relaxing, laid-back Jazz tunes. With a sound that's been described as a cross between Stan Getz and Ben Webster, he has recorded several CDs, three of which have been featured as "CD of the Week" on various radio stations. For soothing, mellow, or romantic music, Mike works with pianists Andrew Ford or Eddie Kirkwood, who both play Gene Harris/Oscar Petersen-stye "tinkly" piano. He usually adds a solid double-bass player and gentle drummer, and sometimes even strings.
Wailing tenor saxophone over a slow, rhythmical trio of piano, double bass and drums, filled out with subtle strings. Suitable for rainy or foggy street scenes, scenes involving night clubs or dimly-lit restaurants, strip joints. Instrumental, Action, Theme Crime
