Based in California, Larry Salzman is a percussionist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who specializes in music styles from Africa, India, Brazil, and the Middle East. He has licensed music globally, with credits including NBC, Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Food Network, Spike TV, Animal Planet, PBS, BBC, Red Bull, Samsung, and Newsweek. As a performer and recording artist, Larry has accompanied some of the most respected Jazz and World artists, including Chieli Minucci, Otmaro Ruiz, Bill Watrous, Gina Saputo, and others.
Larry Salzman plays and records his parts using only real instruments, and he does not rely on loops or any midi-based instrument assistance. Besides playing around 25 different hand percussion instruments, he also pays hammered dulcimer and flute. Larry is an authority on correct use of instruments, which ultimately results in the highest quality of music.
