Hummingbird is the moniker of Elizabeth Melody Klyman, a singer-songwriter, composer, and classically trained pianist based in Canada. As a vocalist and topline writer, she has released vocal sample packs, 15+ club tracks for various labels, and two studio albums of alternative music as Melody Klyman. Her debut album "Sovereign" brought her early acclaim from The Guardian, Clash Magazine, Time Out, and beyond. Her vocal and writing talents can be heard on tracks for The Crystal Method, Future Funk Squad, Splitloop, Slyde, and other artists.
Elizabeth made a brief move to the UK in the mid 90's and did vocal work for the London-based Kickin' and Slip'n'Slide record labels garnering her a top 10 hit with the house producers Boomshanka for the track "Gonna Make You Move". In the intervening years traveling between countries, she accumulated a great deal of studio experience in collaboration with various producers, a gold record, and numerous plaudits along the way. Settled again in the UK between 2005-2011, she began making some serious waves in the Dance music scene. Her vocal and writing talents can be heard on tracks for a diverse range of Club/Dance artists. She’s released 4 solo singles on European labels Reconnect, Envision, and Sound of Habib as Liz Melody and B. W. E. I., her somewhat darker production alias. She has also published several Club tracks with veteran Dance label Champion Records penning tracks for classic artists such as De’Lacy. Over the last few years, Elizabeth has changed focus. Combining her Classical training with her many years of music experience, she has found her niche composing for film and TV under the moniker Hummingbird.
