Currently based in Indonesia, Anello Capuano is a multi-instrumentalist, ethno-musicologist, composer, arranger, and producer who hails from Italy. His work spans an impressive multitude of musical styles and genres, including Medieval, Mediterranean, World, Asian, Indian, and Ethno-Electro. Anello studied extra-European traditional music at the Conservatory of Music in Marrakech (Morocco) and at the Benares Hindu University in Varanasi (India), and he has performed extensively in Europe, Africa, Asia, Canada, the Middle East, and the USA.
Anello Capuano's music can be heard in many films, documentaries, and TV broadcasts, including Year One (Harold Ramis for Columbia Pictures), Les Enfants Du Siecle (Diane Kurys), Mirrors Of Paradise (Mike Dibb for BBC), Amreeka (Cherien Dabis), Symphony Of Letters (Alanoud Al Ali), and more. His music has also been chosen around the world to illustrate all kinds of video presentations currently seen on YouTube. Anello has also recorded over 30 CD's, and his "OrienTales" has been published 15 times even as far as Korea. He has composed for ballet and fashion shows.
He recorded and performed with Progressive Rock icon Shawn Phillips (including in front of 500,000 people at the Isle of Wight Festival 1971), toured with composer Richard Horowitz ("Un the au Sahara" and other Bernardo Bertolucci films), played with Didier Malherbe (who contributed to the soundtrack of "1498" of Ridley Scott) and Steve Shehan (music director of Paul Simon for two years), recorded with Rai star Cheb Mami and Pop French celebrity Karim Kacel and collaborated on several projects with French composer Hughes de Courson, who gained worldwide fame with his hit Mozart the Egyptian.
