Jazz Saxophonist Sam Q is poised to independently release his ‘Samba Of Love’ album in the UK. Initially released in Brazil, the album was actually recorded in his adopted hometown of Manchester at Astar Studio’s - home to the Radio 3 Yamaha Jazz Awards Compilations. His Brazilian Label boss, Edground: "Sam Q is the new Stan Getz to us here in Brazil – His magnificent tone and control illustrate." Sam Q has played Ronnie Scott’s and numerous other UK jazz and club venues. He played a cameo role in "Alfie."
Sam Q was the first Instrumentalist to play at UK underground club 'raves' in the early 90's he performed live PA sets with famous DJ's such as Fabio and Grooverider as 'The Jazz Exorcist' he was sought after by many promoters and dance labels.. Sam's classic Blue Note style Jazz album -'How To Steal the World' was commisioned by UB40'S lead singer Ali Campbell - recorded in the famous UB40 - DEP International Studio (Home to UB40 from 1982- 2000.)
In the early 1980's Sam was the leader of cult Jazz Combo "he Cavemen" playing at the legendary Ronnie Scotts Club on three occasions and aired by BBC Radio's Giles Peterson. Sam's recording on the RF Immprint an album called STALKER-CID was picked up by the Radio 365 Online network and charted consistently picking up higher positions than the Jazz Greats such as Miles Davis and John Coltrane! This lead to a dialog between Sam and President of Blue Note Records the great Bruce Lundvall who was impressed with his work. One of the tracks from this album was licensed to the first ever Hip Hop triology 'American Hunger' entitled "Snakes and Ladders." Sam's jazz music is always crossing musical genres.
A modern day Bossa Nova inspired by the style of Antonio Jobim.. Romantic love song very upbeat with a finely cut female vocal and measured flute solo.. The percussive flavours would suite a great advertisement for acompanies prior to the Brazil olympics 2016.. Film scene of a reunited couple dance, Female Vocals, Jazz, Bossa Nova Jazz
nylon string bossa nova with a subtle vocal similar to Astrud Gilberto This Jobim inspired tune simply flows beuaytifuly with a pulsating double bass and drum partnership. Either can chill out and wind down listening or dancing feet. Definte for a movie soundtrack, advertsement of fashion or film. Female Vocals, Brazilian, Bossa Nova
Soft Bossa Nova with superb Saxaphone lick through out arangement wind tinged with a Latino vitality.. In the middle eight section there is interplay between nylon guitar and saxaphone as they both dance together. Its a major percussive arangement with drum kit excluded to great effect. Great movie. Instrumental, Brazilian, Samba
quiet vocal version in classic Jobim string section.. Pure late 1950's immprint could be used as fantastic incidental music for a romantic encounter in a hollywood movie.. Very touching musical.. muted trumpet solo just like Miles Davis in chill out mode.. theme played on keyboard elegantly. Female Vocals, Brazilian, Bossa Nova
