Ulrich Ellison (Indian Tracks)Home: Texas USA Ulrich Ellison is a Texas-based guitarist, producer, and bandleader with European roots. He is classically trained and has a Master's degree in music production (University Vienna) and one in Jazz Guitar (UT of Austin, TX). In addition to studio work, Ulrich Ellison and his band Tribe are a well-known international-touring act, mixing classical finesse with a Rocking attitude. Ellison is a three-time Downbeat Award Winner and was named "Best Guitarist" and "Best Blues/Soul/Funk Act" at the 2016 Austin Music Awards. |

Called "The Mozart of Bluesrock," Ulrich Ellison is a classically trained prodigy. His singular talent earned him a place at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. There he fell in love with the guitar and developed the muscular, bluesy, funked-out style that would become his trademark. Life took a sharp turn when Ulrich was offered a Fulbright Scholarship to study Jazz Guitar at UT Austin. Soon he became a sideman for such Austin luminaries as Nakia and Grammy-nominated singer Abra Moore. After founding his band Tribe in 2012, he started utilizing his own voice -- a Bluesy, cool sound that pushes the borders of the genre. A high caliber guitarist, Ulrich can easily switch from lightning-fast modal runs to swamp-soaked blues and singing guitar leads that make his guitar talk. Ulrich Ellison and his band Tribe are one of the very few intercultural acts on the Austin scene that tours internationally. They have forged a lasting place not just in Austin’s music scene, but on the international scene as well. With Ulrich joining Jose Feliciano's band as his musical director for 2018 the music is about to get hot again. |
