The H.T.3 was a Minneapolis pop group from around 1965 to 1967. They had a hit record that was a Cash Box Magazine "pick hit of the week." Their styles went from pop tunes to a jazz piano trio to a pre-punk song about a wart on a guy’s face. H.T.3 consisted of Harley Toberman on piano, Myron Goodman, drums, and Hal Witzman, guitar. Rick Holtan later joined on Bass. Unlike other bands of this era, they played mostly original songs as opposed to all the cover groups playing "Louie, Louie.” For 1960's authenticity, H.T.3's music is a must-have for your project!
In reminiscing about recording capabilities back in the sixties, pretty much everyone was recording in mono. Two track decks were extremely rare. H.T.3, however, recorded in stereo. Today, “Cool Breeze" is on the rare $500 Money Music album. When the album was mastered, the engineer thought everything was mono, so he just printed the left channel. The bass of this song was on the right, so it was missing all together. It has been restored on this new album.
Guitar, Hammond B3 organ and drums do a very poppy instrumental with organ in the lead. There are a few screams and shout outs to be heard from the players, plus applause at the end. A fun, good mood number. Instrumental, Indie Rock, Indie Rock
